After just one year with my girlfriend, i thought couples therapy was a terrible idea
My girlfriend dragged me to couples therapy at Mark, and I really wasn’t interested.
We had only been dating for a year, so I thought it was too early, because I did not think our problems were big enough to seek help.
Turns out I was very wrong.
Being gay in a straight world is really challenging
Mark offers presence, and from there acknowledges and sees me, along with what I am struggling with.
He gives me a broader perspective and can guide me.
As a 38 year old gay man, being seen like this has been transformative.
I was born in Vietnam, and life in denmark is so different
Born into a male body, but I identify as “she / her” I have had my share of challenges.
Mark has a good grip of my issues, he is well prepared, and he can be brutally honest sometimes.
Our marriage was so difficult, with constant arguments and painful distance
The pace at which Mark worked was faster than what I was used to, but the results came along with that, and I am grateful.
My husband is a Dane, age 47 and I am from the U.S., aged 37, and we have a young baby boy together.
Being married to a sex addict was rough, and we needed professional help
Mark’s questions are accurate and allow for an opportunity to reflect upon our own patterns of behavior. He expects us to be engaged, and that we try out the methods and tools that he supplies us with.
We are in our late 30’s and seeing Mark in Svendborg was a great bonus for us.
When I was 40, my mum passed away, which brought up grief and challenged my identity, as i suddenly had lost my anchor in life
The work in the therapy room has had such an impact on the relationships with my male partner, my sister, my dad and most importantly with my self.
I am now 43, and this investment in myself has turned my life around.
It took a motorbike accident to bring me to online therapy – oh, and the anxiety too!
At 28 years old, I thought I had it all figured out. I have gone to other psychologists before and they only worked in a very isolated way with my anxiety and the particular situation in which it had arisen.
With Mark, it’s different. Well, the whole thing is. If you’re ready to go deep, Mark will join you all the way.
Serious illness in my immediate family brought me to start therapy with Mark. I was sad, in shock and disoriented
I was 37 at the time my sister got cancer, and I was stunned. I couldn’t get anything done, and it was only when I almost got fired for shouting at a colleague and customers at work that I realised my anger and shock had taken over.
Mark provided me with tangible tools to resolve internal and external conflicts, as well as improve the way I communicate.
Both tools are something I often use in my everyday life.
i had started therapy due to a mid-life depression, and then my bi-polar mother killed herself
My late forties changed my entire life.
Feeling empty and sad, I found Mark. Then, my mother switched medications, and committed suicide.
This was the roughest time in my life.
I highly recommend Mark – he applies a wide and rich palette of therapy approaches, ranging from more classic psychotherapy to spiritual and ancestral engagements, from dream analysis to very hands-on and practical advice.
Ten years after couples therapy, and a divorce, I returned to Mark for individual therapy
I saw Mark with my now ex-husband when we both were in our late 40’s. Couples therapy helped us get divorced in a “less-than-terrible way”
Now, late in my fifties, I have returned for more therapy.
Each one-hour session seems always extremely short and emotionally intense. I leave each of them with some specific ‘materials’ to work on or real life experiences to try.
Mark’s therapy is grounded and his approach to attachment styles is very profund.
A sense of midlife-crisis, lack of energy and lack of motivation. I have also been drinking more than i should
I was referred to Mark by a friend of mine who has seen Mark over the years. My friend also had an alcohol addiction, I guess. I started with Mark when I was 49.
I liked that Mark instantly established clear boundaries and confidentiality.
What really worked for me has been that Mark is what I would call “interventionist”. He doesn’t sit around, saying nothing.
