Hello, I name is Mark Colclough. I am a fully trained and qualified Psychotherapist, M.A. with further education in
Family & Couples Therapy

You are welcome to call 61488488 or send a mail to hello@therapy-mark.com if you have any questions.

Professional orientation

As a fully certified psychotherapist and couples therapist since 2004, my psychotherapeutic practice revolves around psychosynthesis, and is further inspired by process-oriented psychology, as well as Jungian, humanistic and transpersonal elements.

I am grateful to the thousands of individuals who have opened their hearts, sharing their childhoods, relationships, marriages, challenges, and traumas in the secure environment that a well-facilitated therapy room provides.

I hope to welcome you to therapy as well, and I am excited to assist you in discovering your profound self at depth.

Qualifying educational background

I hold a Masters of Arts degree in Psychotherapy, awarded in 2011 by The University of East London.

I am also a qualified family therapist, certified through Human Education Group in 2011.

I took a 2 year further training as a couples therapist at Re-Vision in London, graduating in 2016.

Continuing education and supervision

To keep my professional training ajour I attend international courses, lectures and workshops.

I receive individual supervision from certified members of UKCP or BACP. Qualified supervision helps me hold ethical considerations, illuminates any unconscious relations in the therapy room and also provides a space to consider specific professional challenges.

Ethical guidelines

I follow the ethical guidelines of two professional organisations:

UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and EFPP (European Federation for Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy).

I am also a member of the Danish C.G. Jung Forening.

You are welcome to download the ethical guidelines I follow here.

Teaching and lecturing

I have international teaching and lecturing experience within psychotherapy, and have held workshops at annual psychotherapy conferences, both in Denmark and abroad.

Confidentiality

I offer you total confidentiality, except where Danish or European law stipulates. If I become aware of issues that bring the safety, growth or well-being of minors into question, I have a legal duty to inform the correct authorities. This also applies if I become aware of plans to harm yourself or others.

Psychotherapy, couples and family therapy

In any session with you (and perhaps your loved ones), I create the framework in which you provide the content.

My approach is humanistic and transpersonal, based on psychosynthesis and Jungian theory. I lean heavily on interpersonal and phenomenological theories, whilst drawing on process-oriented psychology.

Concretely, we will talk about what is going on in your life at this moment. The past is brought in and reflected on, majoritively as a tool to explore and feel the present moment. Each session is connected to the previous, and each session ends with a plan for the future.

As your defences come up – because they often do – we will explore them and what is happening inside you: not just in your thoughts, but especially in your feelings and body. All the answers are right there, I will simply ask you questions, bringing you a step closer to understanding yourself and your relationships around you.

How does therapy work?

All the answers are right there, I will simply ask you questions, bringing you a step closer to understanding yourself and your relationships around you.

With each client, I create a custom-made therapeutic journey, touching in on the milestones that come up along the way. Although heavily trained, my approach is not one of theory. You will experience a presence and engagement that is fully in the moment.

You will have the chance to experience what is happening – rather than merely talking about it. The therapy room is indeed a place to practice – with no “right idea” or “wrong feelings” before you step back in your life and relationships.
